I love these teeny tiny little crochet Christmas baubles! I think they would look so sweet hung up on a little Christmas tree, but they would also look adorable tied to a Christmas gift, or hung in a garland. You can use whatever colors you like, bright and bold, classic and elegant, or pretty and pastel. Enjoy this mini Christmas bauble crochet pattern!
I crocheted my toppers using Gold Lurex. I love the look and sparkle that the Lurex gives, but just a warning: it is not easy to work with! It can split very easily, is springy, and is hard on your hands. If you want something a bit more gentle then you may need to consider an acrylic or cotton in a gold shade, or with some added sparkle. Bear in mind that you may need to hold the yarn double to achieve the correct weight!

Assembly
- Cut a length of sewing thread (approximately 20cm)
- Secure the thread on the inside of the gold topper
- Pass the thread through the centre of the topper and pull it through.
- Pass the thread back down through the centre of the topper, adjusting the loop to the size that you want it. Secure the thread on the inside of the topper.
- Using sewing thread or scrap yarn, stitch the topper in place on top of the bauble.
- Weave in any remaining ends.
Enjoy!

How big are the baubles approximately? I might want to put a wooden bead in it to make it sturdier, so it would be easy to know which beads to buy.
They are approximately 2 – 3 cm across. But the finished size will depend on what yarn you are using and how tightly you crochet. Hope that helps!
Hi, just trying this out, and I was wondering if you are supposed to join at the end of each round? Thanks! 🙂
Hello! This pattern is worked in continuous rounds, so there is no need to join each round. Hope that helps 🙂
Could someone share where they found the gold?
It depends on where you are located. Here in SA I found some at my local yarn store. But you can also buy online from places like Amazon or LoveCrafts. If you can’t find gold lurex, you can use gold embroidery threads. I know that DMC has a gorgeous range of metallics!
Hello,
thanks for the pattern. the Christmas baubles look so cute!
I was wondering, would it be okay for me to sell these baubles on and/or offline? I would credit you as the designer, of course.
Of course you can sell your makes! Happy stitching 🙂
Great~ Thanks a lot! 🙂
