Teeny tiny crochet dinosaur pattern

I think most children go through a dinosaur loving phase. Did you? I certainly know I did! My parents recall a scene where I was sitting with a pre-school friend in the back of the car on the way home from school.

We were paging through a book (one I still have today) about the ancient beasts. The friend pointed at a picture and said something along the lines of “look, a dinosaur” and I promptly put him in his place by saying “it is not a dinosaur, it’s a dip-lo-do-cus” and rattled off some arbitrary fact about the long necked creature (have a look here if you have no idea what I’m talking about).

This teeny tiny crochet dinosaur is such a cute pattern that works up really quickly. They are only 2 inches tall, so really, teeny tiny and would make a great gift for a dinosaur loving child. They are also small enough to be put onto a key ring. If this pattern had been around when I was a kid, I would have had a crochet dinosaur in every color!

I used Elle crochet cotton for these dinosaurs and it was lovely to work with. It is a nice change from wool and has a lovely sheen while remaining 100% natural cotton.  The premier range comes in such lovely colors and almost any color combination looks great! Where to get the crochet dinosaur pattern

This pattern is available for download at my online shops. I would love to see what color variations you come up with, so please do send a picture of your finished work or share it on my Facebook page.

  1. Really fun challenge, took me quite awhile, mostly sewing it together, and figuring out how best to get the neck detail on……but happy with the cute result, and definitely great directions!
