Christmas crochet | Free reindeer pattern

crochet reindeer wearing a scarf with sparkly lights in the background

It is the festive season, which means that it is time for some Christmas crochet. I’ve been hanging onto this free crochet reindeer pattern for quite a while now, but figured that since 2020 has been a bit of a stinker, let’s get some festive cheer going. I really hope you enjoy making this sweet reindeer friend! For this pattern I used Paintbox cotton DK. They have a super range of colors to choose from. I opted to embroider the eyes onto my reindeer, but you can absolutely use safety eyes if you prefer. Just make sure to add them before you finish the last few rounds of the head.

Materials

D / 3.25mm crochet hook

Light worsted cotton yarn in the following colors:
Light brown (e.g. Paintbox yarn Vanilla cream)
Cream (e.g. Paintbox yarn Light Champagne)

Medium brown (e.g. Paintbox yarn Soft Fudge)
Blue (e.g. Paintbox yarn Duck Egg Blue)

Scrap black yarn or embroidery floss
Stuffing
Scissors
Pins
Stitch marker
Yarn needle (my favourite for amigurumi are these bent tipped needles)
