Here is a handy list of all the crochet pattern abbreviations used on Thoresby Cottage. Please note that all crochet pattern abbreviations on this website use US terminology.

Crochet pattern abbreviations in US terminology

*…*: repeat stitch pattern as indicated
(…): number of stitches in the round
bl: back loop
blo or BLO: back loop only
bp or BP: back post st (e.g. back post double crochet is bpdc. BPdc stitch tutorial)
CC: contrast color
ch: chain
ch-sp: chain space
cm: centimeter
dc: double crochet (US terminology)
fl or FLO: front loop (only)
frog: to undo/pull out your crochet stitches (rip-it, rip-it…)
fp or FP: front post st (e.g. front post double crochet is fpdc. FPdc stitch tutorial)
hdc: half double crochet
g: grams (yarn weight)
MC: main color
mm: millimeter
mr: magic ring
R: row
rep: repeat
rnd(s): round(s)
RS: right side / front of work
sc: single crochet (US terminology)
sc2tog:  single crochet 2 together (decrease)
sk: skip
sl st: slip stitch
sp: space
st(s): stitch(es)
tr: treble crochet (US terminology)
