I’m really excited to publish my first crochet pattern: a cheeky monkey curtain tie back! My husband and I are expecting our first child in a few weeks and I’ve been having a huge amount of fun working on decorating the nursery.
I’m going for a woodland / animal theme in blues and greys. We don’t know if bub will be a boy or a girl, but either way, some little monkeys holding back the curtains will be super cute! I love the fact the cheeky monkey curtain tie back is a cute toy that is also functional.
This is also the perfect opportunity to use up some wool that has been lurking in my cupboard for a few years… (craft hoarding is a real problem as I’m sure many of you creatives know!). This crochet monkey curtain tie back is such a cute pattern and it’s really easy to make.
Where to get this CROCHET monkey curtain tie back pattern
Pop down to my online shops to purchase a copy of the pattern. You will need to know how to do basic crochet to complete this monkey, including single crochet, the magic ring (also known as an adjustable ring), working in the round and basic decreasing and increasing.
You can find a handy list of all the crochet terms used by Thoresby Cottage here. If you are new to crochet or amigurumi, then make sure to check out my helpful tips on crocheting amigurumi.
This pattern is available in English and French.
I’d love to see your finished projects, so email them to me, tag me on Instagram or visit my Facebook page.
If you love this pattern, I have a number of other crochet monkey themed projects, including my Cheeky Monkey rattle / teether. A beautiful baby shower gift!
Yours in craft,
Caitie

Hi.
Would anybody be interested in making 4 of these for me?
Olá. Como fazer para conseguir receita ou tutorial do Monkey de cortina? Quero fazer para meu bisneto que está a chegar. Muito obrigada.

I purchased the pattern and am in the process of making it now. It would have been helpful to know how big this is supposed to be. There was no stitch guide, so I’m not sure if it will be too small, or too big.
Hello! Using the hook size and yarn weight suggested, the monkey should be approximately 18 – 20cm tall (excluding the tail). Hope that helps 🙂
Can you please help me witbh the pattren
Regards
Eileen
